TRAINING THE URBAN DOG - EVERY DOG DESERVES TO BE TREATED AS ONE
Welcome!

Here’s a Quiz for all humans who consider their dogs’ part of the family. What if you could sway your dogs to behave properly without forcing them to do so? To act as you wish them to, while they feel that their actions are of their own choice and therefore the right thing to do? In other words, can you think of a better and more pleasant technique to lead your dog then to teach them about Dogs Priorities and how to perform them not because you told them so, but because they want to?

Hello, my name is Aamos and I'm the owner at  TRAINING THE URBAN DOG.  I believe that the relations between humans and dogs are one of the healthiest, most rewording and unique in all of animal kingdom. In fact, beneficial and symbiotic relations between two different species are not rare, but they are based on instinct. Our love and appreciation to all who are dogs taught us that dogs are loyal to humans because they chose to be. We needed their unique talents way more than they needed ours. As crucial as the virtue of being loyal is, it does not demand compliance, obedience, or mutual routines, the main ingredients of good training. Then we realized that as contradictory as it sounds, the benefits of these traits in the lives of dogs are immense. Dogs will be happier, more responsive, safer, better companions, clear of problems . And us humans, what did we gain? we found the most suitable creature on earth to  put up with our idiosyncrasies, ludicrous need to control, inherent imbalance with the world around us. We should count our blessings.

Instructing Dogs and their Humans to appreciate and utilize these relations is at the core of my agenda. Coaching humans and their dogs in the city compels me to focus on situations, which are specific  to that environment, and exercise a slightly different set of rules. I am here to make sure that dogs in an urban environment are not only obedient, respectful and content, but also responsive, confident and safe.

Learn how to command your dog to behave properly in any environment and all situations, applying love, respect and strict routine, the basic of any training, be it human or any other pet. As you will find out in the "Who is a Dog" page, dogs react to what they sense. Being able to evaluate their behavior ahead of time will make your life and theirs more pleasant and predictable, which dogs greatly appreciate. By the way, treats are not essential in most circumstances. To lead your dog in the right direction, I prefer to harness sheer will-power, concentration and genuine praise. Treats are kept for special occasions.

Bear in mind that you and your family are the ones who enjoy your dog's company, which means that I will concentrate on instructing you on how to lead your dog to properly behave; hence, your participation is crucialDon't worry, your dog will follow. They always do. It's in their nature. There might be times that a one on one session is crucial, but in most situations your commands will lead the way. Start as early as possible and save yourself the need to deal with solving problems later.

Give your dog the attention it needs and the rewards will flow.

A piece of mind

Train your dog to be your companion, not your  property, a friend, not a puppet
